DPC Introduces Self Meter Reading


Dhofar Power Company provides you with smart solutions, which enable you to
submit your electricity meter reading by yourself in order to issue your
consumption bill. All you need to do is record your meter reading and choose the
most suitable medium from the above to send your reading.

Reading the meter and submission of the reading must be between 18 to 25 of every month.

RO 3 bn to be invested in power projects

MUSCAT — Mohammed bin Abdullah al Mahrouqi, Chairman of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water, said that the total cost for investment in the electricity projects in the Sultanate due to be implemented during the forthcoming years will be RO 3 billion. He told Oman News Agency (ONA) that a number of electricity and water plants will be built in a number of governorates and regions of the Sultanate. Currently, the final formalities towards floating the tender of Mirbat electricity production and water desalination plant is under way. The plant’s production capacity will exceed 420 Mega Watt (MW) and 15 million gallons of water.The first phase of the project will be operational by 2011.

Assets Transfer of SFZ-1 PSS from SFZ to DPC

Dhofar Power Company (DPC) has signed the agreement today 27/06/2012 with Salalah Free Zone (SFZ) authority for the transfer of SFZ-1 primary substation to DPC assets. The cermony was attended by Mr. Ali Issa Shamas -DPC CEO and by the SFZ CEO along with Directors from both companies.

EHC acquires majority stake in Dhofar Power


MUSCAT — Share purchase agreements were signed here on Sunday granting the state-owned Electricity Holding Company SAOC (EHC) a majority shareholding in Dhofar Power Company SAOG (DPC), which owns and operates the vertically integrated Salalah Power System. The deals mark a key step in the government’s efforts to explore options for the restructuring of its concession agreement with DPC, agreed back in 2001, and to bring it in line with the market structure and regulatory framework established by the 2004 Sector Law and currently in place elsewhere around the Sultanate. With the conclusion of the share purchase agreements, EHC now owns 53.9 per cent of the equity in Dhofar Power Company.
